Rogue Drone Asteroid Infestation is a DED rated combat site found in high and low security space. It is often regarded as a low value site as it contains no faction drones and has a very low chance to drop a single faction module.
Interestingly, the site can have low amounts of Rogue Drone alloys in the cans in the last two pockets that can be reprocessed for minerals.
There are minable asteroids of Omber and Veldspar, but the site will despawn shortly after the drones guarding the Scratched Cask in the last room are defeated, preventing them from being mined unless someone stays in the site, although you do have enough time to go to a nearby station to drop off.
While mining the ore in the site, pirate rats (based on which empire space you're in) can randomly appear, their strength relative to the system's security rating.

This complex was once the work field of a wealthy mining corporation. Funding got cut shortly after an architectural mishap, where the acceleration gates that were supposed to carry the massive industrial haulers got infected with a mysterious virus. The gates' power coils were severely drained and are to this day only capable of hurling smaller vessels between complex pockets. The ruins are now reputed to be infested with a strain of rogue drones. |

This section of the complex was once a pocket of very valuable minerals. Most of the ore was mined away decades ago by the resident mining corporation, but the drifting hulks of rock are now kept company by another type of scavenger: rogue drones. |

This complex pocket once housed a thriving center for miners operating in the deadspace field. The old station ruins that still remain within the sector are evidence enough that some decades back, this area was highly valued by whatever mining interest controlled it.
Multiple signals and reports of rogue drone activity have been detected around this central area. It appears these abandoned ruins have now become the home of a hostile strain of rogue drones who will stop at nothing to defend their harvesting operation. |

Mining
The site's signature will vanish once the last few rogue drones in the last pocket are defeated. Afterwards, leaving the site will result in the site despawning after a minute or so unless someone is present in the site. The site can very well despawn as you're warping back to it.
The first pocket has a sizable amount of Omber in one asteroid, the second pocket has two asteroids with low amounts and the final pocket has a mixed amount of high and low amounts of Omber in each asteroid.
If the site is present in Caldari space, it is recommended to use the Endurance or Venture to be able to defeat ECM rats with drones that can sporadically appear. The Endurance also boasts a larger mining hold to minimize ore drop-offs. In other empires, ECM is not a problem and the Prospect may be used as it can tank the rats through signature tanking and active tanking modules. The gate appears to accommodate Cruiser-sized ships, so using a Mining Barge or Exhumer may be possible, as well as a Porpoise for boosts/compression (unconfirmed).
