This page is specific to EVE University. Other corporations or groups in the game may operate differently. For a summary of EVE University's rules and code of conduct, see EVE University Rules. |
EVE University's Guest Fleet Commander Program allows Fleet Commanders from different corporations and alliances within EVE to act as fleet commanders for EVE University fleets, allowing the students to gain a wider range of experience from FCs with different skill- sets and styles, preparing them for the wide range of command styles and doctrines used in EVE.
Why do we want Guest FCs?
Having Fleet Commanders from various backgrounds and corporations contribute to EVE University can be highly beneficial for several reasons:
- Diverse Learning Opportunities: Different FCs bring unique styles, strategies, and tactics to the table. Exposing EVE University members to a variety of FCing approaches broadens their understanding of the game and makes them better PVP pilots.
- Experience: Guest FCs often have extensive experience in different areas of EVE Online, such as sovereign nullsec warfare, wormholes, faction warfare etc which many EVE University members will not necessarily have direct experience of. This will provide our members with valuable insights about different areas of the game.
- Networking and Collaboration: Collaborating with FCs from other corporations creates networking opportunities for EVE University members. They can establish connections with experienced players, potentially leading to more content in future and enabling them to comfortably move on to other corporations when their time comes to leave EVE University.
- Community Building: Inviting guest FCs fosters a sense of community and camaraderie. It demonstrates EVE University's commitment to cooperation and learning from others, reinforcing the idea that knowledge and expertise are best shared rather than hoarded. It also reinforces EVE University’s reputation as an active corporation who participates in the EVE Online community as a whole.
- Continuous Improvement: Constructive feedback from guest FCs can help EVE University FCs improve their own FCing skills and help them solve problems by giving fresh perspectives.
Information for Guest FCs
Guest FCs often have no experience of EVE University but they will need to be aware of the following:
- EVE Uni Rules of Engagement - we are NRDS in high sec and NBSI everywhere else. Fleets cannot engage in structure warfare without approval
- How they should schedule a fleet - they can decide the date and time, we will put up a forum post and an in-game calendar event for them. They can ping themselves using the fleet ping tool, or ask us to ping for them
- What ships to fly - if they let us know what ships they want for the fleet we can complete a Fleet Request Form for them. Our logistics department will make the ships, move them to the fleet departure point and put them up on contract at cost
How to join as a Guest FC
New Guest FCs are added by invitation only. If you are interested in be moving a Guest FC speak to the FC Team Manager.
