if you are new to EVE we recommend starting with the E-Uni Basics Skill Plan. It allows new players to quickly learn the skills needed to fly damage-dealing Frigates and Cruisers; this will allow you to join Uni fleets as quickly as possible while you continue training towards more advanced ships.
As a student(?) member, you can reclaim the cost of the necessary skill books through the Uni's Skillbook Reimbursement Program.
