| == Using the Discord Events feature ==
| |
| For the purposes of this page, "event" means ''any'' calendar event, including classes, Q&As, fleets, corp events, etc.
| |
|
| |
| === Adding and Editing Events ===
| |
| The ability to add and edit events is open to corporation members ('Member' role on E-Uni Discord server), although certain more limited channels may require additional permissions (e.g. staff role).
| |
|
| |
| To add events go to the calendar icon in your Discord window (top left when on PC).

| |
|
| |
|
| |
| Some points of note:
| |
| * Make sure you select correct 'Location'
| |
| ** For E-Uni #lecture-hall events select 'Stage Channel'
| |
| ** For events in any other E-Uni voice channels (including Mumble) select 'Voice Channels' category
| |
| ** The 'Somewhere Else' option is suitable for any other public events
| |
| * Your event visibility will be tied to the visibility of the 'Location' you have selected
| |
| ** Public events such as classes, talks, and public fleets should be scheduled in public voice channels (marked with a blue diamond)
| |
| ** EVE University specific events (e.g. Strat-Ops) should be scheduled in E-Uni gated channels to avoid them being publicly visible (even if it takes place elsewhere, e.g. on Mumble)
| |
| *Use the correct title Prefix for your event. For fleets use: [STRATOP], [PVP], [FW], [PVE], [INC]. For classes use: [CLASS], [CORE], [Q&A]. For anything else use [EVENT].
| |
| * Include a description.
| |
| ** A brief description of the event should give potential attendees a reason to want to attend your event.
| |
| ** Specify the formup location for fleets, unless it is an incursion fleets.
| |
| ** If its a class that is going to include a practical ensure you note that.
| |
| ** Get creative!
| |
|
| |
| * Don't spam the calendar.
| |
| ** If the same event occurs more than once in a day, create one event per timeslot.
| |
| ** If an event lasts multiple days, try creating No Duration milestones at 00:00 as appropriate.
| |
| ** The Google Calendar interprets a 0 hour No Duration timeslot as a 2 hour event.
| |
| ** Please be very sparing about making durations longer than 12 hours.
| |
|
| |
|
| |

| |
| === Removing Events ===
| |
| * If an event is cancelled, communicate this to members by changing the title's prefix to: [CANCELLED]
| |
| ** Do not just delete events!
| |
|
| |
| === Responding to Events ===
| |
| The invitation function of the in-game calendar is not reliably used by event creators, therefore no response is required. It may certainly be voluntarily done for your own reminders, as it changes the icon in your personal calendar display.

CORE Classes
Capsuleer Orientation Related Education (CORE) classes are designed to give brand new EVE players an introduction to a broad range of game mechanics that will form a solid foundation of information to be expanded upon throughout your EVE career. CORE Classes are designed to be easily understandable and usually take 30-45 minutes to cover (not including Q&A or practical application sessions).
Additional Classes
EVE University offers a wide variety of classes on different topics of EVE Online. These can take the form of presentations, workshops, Q&As, and talks. Please keep in mind that some parts of this library are not actively maintained and some slide-decks may have some outdated information. If you notice specific content that requires updating, please let us know by reaching out to any member of the Teaching Department in our public Discord or via EVEMail.
