The Abaddon class ship is a celestial tool of destruction. It is designed to enter combat from the outset, targeting enemies at range and firing salvo after salvo at them, and to remain intact on the battlefield until every heretic in sight has been torn to shreds.

Summary

The Abaddon is the Amarr Combat Battleship (post teiricide). It has a bonus to laser damage and armor resistances, but the normal bonus to laser capacitor use is conspicuously missing. This makes the Abaddon a "high skill" ship for PvE, because it requires good core skills to keep its lasers firing while powering its tank. The bonus to tank and the high damage makes the Abaddon a popular PvP ship, where its difficulty staying cap stable is also not so much of an issue, especially when fitted with artillery as an alpha doctrine.

Skills

Further information about additional or recommended skills to pilot Abaddon for a specific or it's common role(s) can be written here.

Tactics

The Abaddon is a highly skill intensive battleship and due to its cost shouldn't be fielded unless proper skills are able to justify its abilities. The Abaddon is known for its extremely large tank since it is usually equipped with dual 1600mm plates and resistance modules in the low slots. With this battleship the DPS isn't lacking either. With plenty of the precious CPU to spare, which most Amarr pilots crave, the Mega Pulse Laser IIs can be attached in the highs making this a very dangerous target to encouter on the wrong end of the turret.

Please know that an Abaddon with a 'fail' fit will only be a large liability on field since the hull isn't agile enough to sustain a high speed fleet movement and usually comes with a hefty price tag as well. So, be prepared to be primaried and be prepared to sustain high DPS within engagements. However, if you are part of a fleet those large energy turrets will make all the skill training worth it.
