Contents

Designed for commando and espionage operation, its main strength is the ability to travel unseen through enemy territory and to avoid unfavorable encounters.

Developer: Ishukone

The Buzzard was developed according to the exacting specifications of Admiral Okaseilen Fukashi, head of the Caldari Navy Recon Division, and was the first production level ship specifically built to take full advantage of the cloaking breakthroughs achieved by Project Mirage at Crielere.

Caldari Frigate Skill Bonus:
5% bonus to Missile Kinetic Damage per level
-5% bonus to Missile Launcher Rate of Fire per level
Covert Ops Skill Bonus:
20% reduced CPU need for Cloaking Devices per level
10% increase to scan strength of probes per level
10% reduction to survey probe flight time per level
Notes: Can fit covert ops cloaks and cynosural field generators. Cloak reactivation delay reduced to 5 seconds.

Summary

The Buzzard has an extra mid slot and less low slot compared to most covert ops frigates, making it less agile than the other covops frigates due to losing a nanofiber. This is not a major impediment though and the Buzzard still performs its role well.

  • Having empty slots on a covert ops ship is perfectly acceptable. This ship is not intended for any direct combat role.
  • The MAPC in the low slot is needed to give the Buzzard pilot enough powergrid to fit a capacitor battery for long warps.
  • Sisters Combat probes are definitely worth the extra ISK.
  • Carry extra probes, because you *will* forget about some of them.

  • This fit requires at least a +3% cpu hardwiring implant.
  • It is of arguable usefulness within the Uni, and requires an expert skillset to fly a poor substitute of a proper tackle frigate.
  • There are very rare instances where this hero tackle frigate fit may actually be useful. The chance that this Buzzard can hold a target long enough for help to arrive is low, and is typically not worth risking the fleet scout.

  • You know, for all those E-Uni Black Ops fleets. Don't forget to bring some Liquid Ozone.
  • If you do not wish to be cyno fodder, you can leave the high slot for the cyno empty, obviously.
  • The Deep Scanner probes can be used in conjunction with other probes to quickly classify which ship or cosmic signatures correlate with what you are searching for.
  • The Sensor Booster and Target Painter are for those rare moments where killmail whoring is generally acceptable, such as the destruction of a Player Owned Station.
