RELATED UNI-WIKI REFERENCES

Electronic attack ships are mobile, resilient electronic warfare platforms. Although well suited to a variety of situations, they really come into their own in skirmish and fleet encounters, particularly against larger ships. For anyone wanting to decentralize their fleet’s electronic countermeasure capabilities and make them immeasurably harder to counter, few things will serve better than a squadron or two of these little vessels.

Developer: Core Complexion

Core Complexion’s ships are unusual in that they favor electronics and defense over the “lots of guns” approach traditionally favored by the Minmatar.

what's this?
Base Time to Warp is essentially the time needed for this ship to align and accelerate until it reaches 75% of its top speed and goes to warp. The time displayed here is the base calculated time with no account for any warp related skills, modules or any other effects.

Summary

Note: All Electronic Attack Ships will be modified with Rubicon expansion. The information below will no longer be valid after the release of Rubicon.

The Hyena is something of an oddball, even among Electronic Attack Frigates. It shares the Vigil's bonus to target painters and also gains a bonus to stasis webifier range, however it has only 4 mid slots, making it quite difficult to take advantage of both of these bonuses at the same time. In reality the target painter bonus is often ignored (if you want that just bring a Vigil) in favour of dual or even triple webs and a tackle fit. As a general tackler the Hyena is a bit hampered by its low speed and agility, but if it can get its webs on the target that disadvantage disappears. The Hyena has a particular niche in small gate camps, where it can quickly lock up and put multiple webs on a target wherever it appears to stop it from reapproaching the gate and jumping.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS
NOTES
  • A very tentative fit for the Rubicon expansion
  • With all skills at V and before boosts, this ship should have about 5.4 K EHP, fly close to 2700 m/s (3800 m/s with MWD overheated) and align in 6.2 s (4.4 s with MWD off). The capacitor should be to stable.
  • Should be able when overheated to web at 48 km.
  • The use of Target painters is questionable (maybe in conjunction with drone ships?), and fitting weapons that can be used at range seems difficult. This fit is more tentative than the other EAS fits.
