RELATED UNI-WIKI REFERENCES

The Vigil is an unusual Minmatar ship, serving both as a long range scout as well as an electronic warfare platform. It is fast and agile, allowing it to keep the distance needed to avoid enemy fire while making use of jammers or other electronic gadgets.

Summary

While technically an EWAR frigate, the Vigil is an odd example of its class. It has bonuses to Target Painters, but the stacking penalties of target painters make having several of these ships in a fleet ineffective. It has a bonus to velocity, making it a decent fast tackler, but it is generally inferior to the Rifter in the tackle role. Despite having a mediocre base speed, the Vigil's hull bonus to velocity makes it the fastest t1 (non-faction) frigate available for a pilot with high Minmatar Frigate skill, making it a good ship for bookmarking.
