In the battleground of ideas, knowledge must be your sharpest balde. – Ior Labron The SoCT's Gnosis-class battlecruiser is typically used as an exploration, research or training vessel and is well equipped for such activities. It is even better prepared, however, to guard such tasks from interruption and sabotage. Although The Society generally frowns upon violent behavior, extreme (and often, extremely violent) methods are taken to protect its own vessels and the secrets they may carry. This mission of acquiring, deepening and sharing knowledge is key to the philosophy of the SoCT, and one well-served by the capable and fearsome Gnosis. The Gnosis is the easiest battlecruiser to jump in, as it only requires Spaceship Command I, which even Alpha Clones have available by default. Summary

The Gnosis is a Jove battlecruiser, with one given to every Omega player on EVE Online's birthday every year as well as on other occasions such as the introduction of alpha clones. The Gnosis has a balanced slot layout and resist profile, allowing it to fit a strong armor or shield tank, at the expense of being the slowest battlecruiser in the game. Whilst the Gnosis' turret damage is rather uninspiring on its own, due to only possessing 5 turret/missile slots, the additional drone bonus helps alleviate this significantly. All in all, the Gnosis has the ability to fit an impressive tank and deal a decent amount of damage. The Gnosis' bonus to scanner probe strength and versatility makes it a favorable PvE ship if battleships are out of the question. Prior to the Arms Race release on December 5th 2017, the Gnosis was unique for alpha clones because it was the only battlecruiser alpha clones could fly.

The Gnosis is immensely popular in low-security space for solo and small gang pvp where it is primarily flown as a hull-tanked blaster brawler, using its 6 mids to wield a fearsome array of tackle and ewar.

Skills

Like all other battlecruisers, the Gnosis benefits massively from a T2 tank, T2 drones and T2 weapons, despite its seemingly low skill requirements mentioned above.

Tactics

The Gnosis is a very versatile ship.

• Weapons: It can utilize most medium weapon types well.
• Tank: With its equal armor and shield amount and resists, it can be both shield and armor tanked, and even both if you want to bait in it. Some even choose to hull tank it.

It can be both a PvE combat ship, an exploration ship or a PvP fit. The Gnosis sees frequent use in exploration ghost sites.
