Even the swiftest blade can be tempered.
– Minmatar Empire maxim

The Fleet Tempest originally came into being as a variant licensed by the Fleet to Core Complexion Inc., who intended to improve on the existing design with their now-famous emphasis on strong defensive capability. The designer, one Enoksur Steidentet, performed so well in this task that the Fleet promptly bought all rights to the design back from him for undisclosed billions, catapulting his small production and design corp into the major leagues.

Summary

The Tempest Fleet Issue (TFI) improves on the standard Tempest in pretty much every way: smaller sig radius, more EHP and fitting, and a slightly faster base speed. The most important upgrade is the extra low slot which allows the TFI to fit a good armor tank. This makes the TFI a popular choice for armor brawling doctrines in lowsec.

Skills

Minmatar Battleship to V is very helpful, as the hull bonuses amount to a 2x increase in damage at Battleship V.

Tactics

No sub-article about Tempest Fleet Issue roles or piloting tactics. You can write them here.

Notes

After the 2022 Uprising Expansion changed the Muninn's role from a long range artillery platform to a missile platform, the TFI quickly took the Muninn's place as the high-alpha weapon of choice for fleet warfare in the bloc fights of nullsec. With 1400mm artillery and a thick armor tank, the TFI can attain extremely high alpha at longer ranges then the Muninn was capable of while also sporting relatively high speed for a battleship. Unlike the Muninn, the TFI is armor tanked, allowing it to be used alongside more traditional fleet vessels such as Apocalypse Navy Issues, Paladins, and Megathrons.
