Development This ship's design represents a radical turnaround in Caldari philosophy, particularly when compared to that of its regular Scorpion-class counterpart. Abandoning the concept of an electronic warfare platform, this vessel's creators instead set their sights on direct combat, with superior shielding and offensive capabilities giving this monster the undeniable upper hand in a vast range of tactical situations.

Summary
A radically different ship to its regular Scorpion counterpart, the Scorpion Navy Issue (commonly abbreviated CNS) is a combat-oriented missile boat, with more in common with a Raven than a Scorpion. With its hull bonus to resistances and 8 mid slots it can be fit with a monster tank and still have slots left over for tackle and utility modules. The Scorpion doesn't have the range bonus of the Raven, but with missile supports to 4 can still fire cruise missiles 120km.
The Navy Scorpion and Navy Raven are similar ships and are often compared. The Navy Scorpion has a stronger tank and is easier to fit, while the Navy Raven has a longer range and does more damage to smaller ships.
