Electronic attack ships are mobile, resilient electronic warfare platforms. Although well suited to a variety of situations, they really come into their own in skirmish and fleet encounters, particularly against larger ships. For anyone wanting to decentralize their fleet’s electronic countermeasure capabilities and make them immeasurably harder to counter, few things will serve better than a squadron or two of these little vessels. Summary
The Hyena is something of an oddball, even among Electronic Attack Frigates. It shares the Vigil's bonus to target painters and also gains a bonus to stasis webifier range, however it has only 4 mid slots, making it quite difficult to take advantage of both of these bonuses at the same time. In reality the target painter bonus is often ignored (if you want that just bring a Vigil) in favour of dual or even triple webs and a tackle fit. As a general tackler the Hyena is a bit hampered by its low speed and agility, but if it can get its webs on the target that disadvantage disappears. The Hyena has a particular niche in small gate camps, where it can quickly lock up and put multiple webs on a target wherever it appears to stop it from reapproaching the gate and jumping.
