The Omen is a stereotypical example of the Amarrian School of thinking when it comes to ship design: thick armor and hard hitting lasers. Advancements in heat dissipation allow the Omen to fire its lasers faster than other ships without this technology.

Summary

The Omen is the Amarr laser boat or "Attack Cruiser" and has bonuses towards rate of fire. With 5 lows and 3 mids, the Omen is meant to be armor tanked. The Omen's main problem is it's low CPU and relatively tiny powergrid will restrict any logical fittings. Even a player with excellent fitting skills will have difficulty fitting a full armor tank and medium guns; the result being that the ship must either sacrifice some tank for gank, or some gank for tank. However, whilst the Omen is a high skill cruiser, in the right hands the Omen can be a devastating laser boat, much more so than the Maller.
