Typhoon

Much praised by its proponents and much maligned by its detractors, the Typhoon-class battleship has always been one of the most hotly debated spacefaring vessels around. Its distinguishing aspect - and the source of most of the controversy - is its sheer versatility, variously seen as either a lack of design focus or a deliberate freedom for pilot modification. Summary
The Typhoon is one of the two Minmatar attack battleships, and is focused on missiles. In many ways it serves as a counterpart to the Caldari Raven: both are missile battleships with 6 launchers and a fire rate bonus, however the two ships differ in two important aspects. First, the Typhoon is almost exclusively armor-tanked, due to its extra Low slots (while the Raven is usually shield-tanked). And second, where the Raven has a bonus to missile range, the Typhoon has a bonus to missile damage application. This makes the Raven more favored for long-range missile sniping, while the Typhoon is more favored for closer-range brawling with Rapid Heavys or Torpedoes, aided by its generous 5-slot Mid rack and 100MBit Drone Bandwidth. (This being said though, a Typhoon can still combine Cruise Missiles and 4 Sentry Drones to great effect.)
