Dominix: Difference between revisions

The '''Dominix''' (or '''Domi''') is an iconic droneboat, with a bonus to drone damage and hit points.  

It has the 125Mb bandwidth required to field a full flight of heavy or sentry drones and a 375m³ drone bay large enough to carry several flights of differently sized drones. This either provides  flexibility in choosing your drones or the ability to replace lost drones when the other side tries to defang you.  

Flexibility is generally the theme for the Dominix. As most of its DPS stems from the drones, the high slots can be used in many ways. Turrets can make a Dominix into an absolute DPS machine. Remote reps are a popular choice for small groups of Domis. Neuts are obviously also helpful. In many of those scenarios you also want to fit a drone link augmentor for more drone control range.

The Dominix is also flexible in its tank. The most common are certainly armor tank, both buffer and active. But it also has a lot of hull hitpoints which makes a hull tank viable. In some cases Domis are even shield tanked.

Domis are currently rather used for solo PvP or in small fleets (in the second case of remote rep). But in the past they have also been used on a larger scale.

They are used for various kinds of PvE. They are able to run nullsec anomalies where the drones automatically aggro the NPCs; but are also a popular option to run level four missions in a drone based ship. Domis in missions often use sentries and an MJD to snipe the NPCs from a distance but fits based on heavy drones are also viable.

The Dominix is sometimes humorously called the "Space Potato" because of its squat and round appearance.
