==Summary==
==Summary==
The Tristan is the Gallente heavy frigate. It is superficially similar to the [[Rifter]], with the same 4/3/3 slot layout, but there are a number of things that make the Tristan much less popular. The Tristan is not particularly fast or agile compared to the Rifter. It has 2/2 split weapon systems between turrets and launchers, meaning you get less extra bang from the hull bonus. This is especially problematic for new Gallente players, who will not have encountered missiles before and may even have trouble finding the skillbooks for them in Gallente space. Finally its preferred weapon combinations - blasters and rockets or rails and missiles - have high combined powergrid requirements, making for trickier fitting. All of this is somewhat offset by its 5m3 drone bay.

Despite these negatives the Tristan is not a bad ship in absolute terms and can serve well as a solo ship for players that are willing to train the extra skills to graduate from the easier to fly [[Incursus]].
