Ships like the Aeon have been with the Empire for a long time. They have remained a mainstay of Amarr expansion as, hopeful for a new beginning beyond the blasted horizon, whole cities of settlers sojourn from their time-worn homesteads to try their luck on infant worlds. The Aeon represents the largest ship of its kind in the history of the Empire, capable of functioning as a mobile citadel in addition to fielding powerful wings of fighter bombers. SHIP BONUSES
Amarr Carrier bonuses (per skill level):
Ship Attributes
|
Summary
The Aeon is the Amarr supercarrier. With a 4% bonus to armor resistances per level allowing the Aeon to mount a tank upwards of 15 million EHP, the Aeon sees some use among null-sec and low-sec alliances. In huge capital brawls its immense tank makes it relatively unfavorable to engage versus other ships which do more damage or are more expensive vessels. Like the Archon, it is inferior for use as a ratting carrier.
Skills
Further information about additional or recommended skills to pilot Aeon for a specific or its common role(s) can be written here.

Notes
Aeon is the typical Commonwealth spelling of the English word spelled elsewhere as eon. It is also, however, the spelling normally used when discussing Aeons, beings which the ancient Gnostics believed emanated from God and occupied an intermediate position between God and humanity. Given the religious origins of many Amarr ship names, this more specific use might be the ship's namesake.
Patch History
A long, long time ago... |
---|
Version 18.11 - Build: 1842315 - 2020-11-10.1 - "Dynamic Frontiers" / "Vat Out of Hel" Update (Patch Notes) As part of the Phoenix Quadrant, a big update to Supercarriers is coming to EVE Online on 10 November, introducing the new Tactical Capsuleer Recloner, stunning new visuals, and added ship balance for these behemoths of New Eden! - CCP Convict, Vat Out of Hel news article
18.04 Release - Build: 1706308 - 2020-04-15 - "Surgical Strike" Update (Patch Notes) There is a vision for a Capital ecosystem with clear escalation steps based on distinct roles for each class. Part of that vision relies on moving Super Carriers and Titans away from all-purpose damage to a specific focus on Capital and structure killing. You will have seen one big step in this direction recently with the removal of High Angle Weapons from Titans. Now, substantial changes are being made to Super Carriers as well, but there is also an acknowledgement that Super Carriers need more to set them apart from Titans and Dreadnaughts as Capital killers before their Subcapital damage application can be fully removed. For now, their fighter tube loadout will be rearranged to promote more class diversity in your local Super umbrella and decrease long range Heavy Fighter damage application. -Surgical Strike Dev Blog
