Summary

The Gila is a cruiser with the ability to field 2 medium drones that do the damage of 12, with a large enough drone bay to carry extra flights and replacements. Only the Ishtar can match this drone power at cruiser size. With its bonus to shield resistances and a respectable 6 mid slots the Gila can fit a very impressive shield tank for its size.

The thermal/kinetic missile bonus applies to all missile weapons, from rockets to cruise missiles.

Tactics

The Gila has become a workhorse (albeit an expensive one) for PvE combat, especially for nullsec ratting and mid-tier Abyssal Deadspace pockets. It is also sometimes seen in PvP.

In both contexts, the heavily bonused drones are the key to the ship. Keep an eye on their health and be prepared to manage them closely if necessary. By the same token, any pilots facing a Gila in combat should consider targeting the drones: if they are destroyed, the ship loses a significant part of its DPS potential.

Trivia

The Gila (pronounced HEE-lah) is a large reptile native to the Southwestern United States and north Mexico. It's best known for its bead-like hide, venomous spittle, and incredibly tenacious bite.

In Bahasa Indonesia, gila means crazy or insane.
