Summary
This Khanid Covert Ops is completely capable in its role. It is easy to fit allowing a bit of flexibility when fitting a cyno, for example, and it has an excellent capacitor but has one of the slowest base speeds in its class.
Skills
- It is essential to train Cloaking to IV in order to use the Covert Ops Cloaking Device II.
- Astrometrics IV, Astrometric Acquisition III, Astrometric Pinpointing III and Astrometric Rangefinding III make a good skills base for scanning.
Fitting

Core Scanner Probe I x8
Combat Scanner Probe I x8
- Amarr Frigate V
- Covert Ops IV
- Cloaking IV
- Astrometrics 4
- Warp Drive Operation 4
- Evasive Maneuvering V
- Many of the Tech 2 modules (except for the cloaking device) can be replaced with the Meta or Tech 1 variants as needed to make the fitting easier. The Capacitor battery is optional. It's perfectly fine to leave the rest of the module slots unfitted as above. The low slots are there for personal preference but beware of the stacking penalties.

- This is intended to be a pure scanning ship, probably most useful for WH scanning where solo exploration isn't possible in a CovOps and you just want to scan as many signatures as possible as fast as possible.
- Two nanofibers and one overdrive hits the 4 second alignment breakpoint while maintaining good speed. If you have poor agility skills, check in EFT to ensure you don't need to change your lows to hit <4 second aligns
- This fit is expensive for a dedicated scanning ship; however, short of upgrading to the extremely expensive RSS Core Scanner Probes, training your scanning skills (and then upgrading the scanning mids to T2), or using Virtue implants, this is the best there is. If you're careful you shouldn't lose CovOps often.
- If you're going to downgrade for price, your most efficient downgrade is to an Expanded Probe Launcher I, but you will either need CovOps 5 or be forced to drop one of the scanning mids. Expanded Probe Launcher II will require dropping one of the scanning mids regardless of your CovOps skill.
