==Summary==
== Summary ==
The Nidhoggur has bonus that can be used either in PVE or PVP. The fighter damage and speed bonus gives Nidhogger firepower advantage compare to other carriers. With the anti-subcap fighter, a Nidhoggur can easily take care a small fleet of subcap. This carrier is currently the most favourite ratting carrier in nullsec due to its ability to be able to deal good dps without rely on implants and able to take down the NPC pirate dreads solo.
The '''Nidhoggur''' is the Minmatar [[carrier]]. Its fighter damage bonus makes it a popular choice for PvE. In that regard, it competes with the [[Thanatos]] which has the same damage bonus. In PvE its advantage over the Thanatos is the additional mid slot which is more valuable than a lowslot due to such modules as drone navs, omidirectional tracking links, or sensor boosters. The fighter HP bonus of the Thanatos is usually valued higher than the Nidhoggur's speed bonus though. Thus it mostly comes down to taste.

In PvP a shield tanked Nidhouggur can put out a good amount of damage for a carrier. But in many PvP situations, fighter health, speed, and application as well as neuting capabilities are more important than raw damage. The shield tank in the mids then gets in the way to increase fighter speed and application. Thus Nidhoggur fighters are usually slower than Thanatos fighters. It is also possible to armor tank a Niddhoggur for PvP. This opens up a lot of mid slots. But the Thanatos is usually still preferred due to its fighter health bonus.

== Notes ==
For PVE, the Nidhoggur usually has a full rack of racial fighters for DPS and always aligned to either safe spot, POS, citadel or Outpost.
In Norse mythology, Nidhoggur was a serpent under the world who gnawed on the roots of Yggdrasil, the world-tree, and (in some accounts) also gnawed on the evil-doers condemned in the afterlife to Náströnd, a kind of underworld for especially heinous criminals. ''Nidhoggur'' is an Anglicization of Old Norse ''Níðhǫggr''.
The general rule is to always align to the POS and to warp to the POS if invaders detected either through local chat system or from friendly intel channel.

==Notes==
== Patch History ==
In Pre-Citadel, the Nidhoggur is used for POS shield repair due to its remote shield bonus. This ship was meant for mix armor and shield tank in theory but practically hard to achieve. In PVP, With a 5/6 mid/low slot layout the Nidhoggur is normally armor tanked.

* Carriers will now have the capability of using a Conduit jump to take 5-30 players in the jump tunnel with them. – From the Wisdoms of Elder Brute

Essentially a pared-down version of its big brother the Hel, the Nidhoggur nonetheless displays the same austerity of vision evident in its sibling. Quite purposefully created for nothing less than all-out warfare, and quite comfortable with that fact, the Nidhoggur will no doubt find itself a mainstay on many a battlefield.

The Nidhoggur is capable of generating a Jump Conduit Portal which allows it to instantaneously transport itself and nearby fleet members to a target cynosural beacon. Ship classes that can be moved via conduit: Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers, Battlecruisers, and Battleships.
