Ferocity is the fastest path to terror.
– Hakim Stormare

The Cynabal was one of the earliest designs put forth by the Angel Cartel, and to this day it remains their most-used. The ship's origins are unknown, but as with most Cartel ships persistent rumors of Jovian influence continue to linger. Whether these tales have basis in reality or not, the facts are on the table: the Cynabal is one of the fastest, most powerful cruisers to be found anywhere.

Summary

The Cynabal is one of the fastest cruisers available, and as such it gets a good deal of use in PvP. It is bonused for projectile weapons, and autocannon fits are common because of its falloff bonus. Artillery fits are also effective due to the Cynabal's ability to kite almost anything. With 5 mid slots and 5 low slots, the Cynabal can fit either armor or shields but is most commonly fit with an active shield tank.

Skills

With the Cynabal's focus on speed, excellent navigation skills are a must. You will also want perfect gunnery support skills and the skills for T2 weapons. You should also have all of the skills for a tech 2 tank, either armor or shield.

Tactics

In PvE, bring ammo appropriate to your enemy's weaknesses. You can either fit a thinner armor tank and brawl, using your 5 mid-slots to attain perfect application, or you can fit a shield tank and artillery and kite using an MWD or afterburner. Autocannon shield tanks are also viable and tend to be stronger tanked but suffer from lower application. In PvP, you can fit either a buffer shield tank or burst active shield tank with ancillary shield boosters and use your extra lows to fit extra tracking enhancers for extra application or nanofibers for extra speed. Alternatively, fit an armored tank and use your many mid-slots with tackle and tracking computers.

Notes

When viewed in game as an item, the Cynabal's warp speed will be shown as 4 AU/s. This is due to the 25% warp speed bonus only being applied when a capsuleer enters the ship.

The Cynabal has a higher warp speed than T1 destroyers and is tied with T1 frigates.
