Summary
The covert ops frigates have few differences, but the cheetah is slightly faster and more maneuverable than the rest, while having a below par capacitor. Its speed makes it the ideal covert ops frigate for creating tactical bookmarks and maneuvering behind enemies on grid for fleet warps and hotdrops. But the speed comes at a price. Its powergrid is lesser than that of the Anathema and Helios, its CPU and capacitor is the lowest of all four covert ops frigates, and it possesses four, instead of five, mid-slots. Consequently, a Cheetah needs more advanced fitting skills or an extra fitting module to achieve the same versatility as the other covert ops frigates.
Skills
- It is essential to train Cloaking to IV in order to use the Covert Ops Cloaking Device II.
- Astrometrics IV, Astrometric Acquisition III, Astrometric Pinpointing III and Astrometric Rangefinding III make a good skills base for scanning.

- There is 1 remaining grid, allowing a single mid slot. A Multispectral ECM jammer might save you if you're caught decloaked. Alternatively a Warp Disruptor is occasionally useful if you bump in to a pod or freighter. An adaptive Invulnerability module might be useful if you get caught by smart bombs. None is really essential.

- Having empty slots on a covert ops ship is perfectly acceptable. This ship is not intended for any direct combat role.
- The MAPC in the low slot is needed to give the Cheetah pilot enough powergrid to fit a capacitor battery for long warps.
- For those interested in exploration, a MAPC also allows a cheetah pilot to fit a codebreaker/analyzer/salvager in addition to the cap battery.
- With max navigation skills, the maximum velocity of this Cheetah fit is 564 m/s, which is 76 m/s faster than a similarly fit Helios.
- Sisters Combat probes are definitely worth the extra ISK.
- Carry extra probes, because you *will* forget about some of them.

Notes
The Cheetah (much like any covops) is cloak tanked. So despite rumors to the contrary, use of shields, or armor tank mods isn't needed. Rule #1: If you've been pointed in a cheetah, you've done something very wrong.
