Summary
The Taranis is a very popular combat interceptor. Its high structure HP means it gets a considerable amount of EHP just by fitting a Damage Control. It has 3 mid slots, so it can field a scram and web to prevent other interceptors from getting away. It has a 10m3 drone bay, unique among interceptors. Taranises are commonly fit with blasters, which along with T2 drones, gives them DPS far higher than other interceptors can manage. On the downside due to its mass it is the slowest and least agile interceptor.

- A brawling shield-fit Taranis. With very good fitting skills, one can upgrade to neutron blasters for maximal DPS. The fit shown is more realistic for typical Uni skills. Compared to the blaster Raptor, the Taranis has higher theoretical damage (largely due to the drones) but lacks the range bonus of the Caldari inty. The Taranis thus has potentially higher damage output, but mainly at very close range and with drones engaged. It has slightly lower speed and EHP than a comparably fit Raptor.
- With all skills at V, this Taranis moves at 3660 m/s (5227 with heat) and aligns in 3 s with prop mod off. DPS with Void and Hobgoblin IIs is over 260. EHP as shown is ~5.5K; the DPS can be upped even further by ignoring the huge EM hole and swapping a damage rig in for the anti-EM.

- A kiting rail Taranis. Compared to a comparably fit Raptor, the Taranis is slower, has reduced targeting range, and reduced optimal for the rails. It trades these for higher DPS, though much of the difference comes from the drones.
- With all skills at V, this Taranis moves at 4195m/s (5992with heat) and aligns in 2.3 s with prop mod off. DPS with faction ammo and two Hobgoblin IIs is around 190. EHP is just below 3K, much of it from structure.
