Efficiency is what separates an amateur from an entrepreneur.
– Outer Ring Prospecting CEO Obelen Cune

The exhumer is the second generation of mining vessels created by ORE. Exhumers, like their mining barge cousins, were each created to excel at a specific function, the Hulk's being mining yield and mining laser range. The additional yield comes at a price, as the Hulk has weaker defenses and a smaller ore bay than the other exhumers.

Exhumers are equipped with electronic subsystems specifically designed to accommodate Strip Mining and Ice Harvesting modules.

Summary

The Hulk has the greatest yield out of all the exhumers, but at the cost of the lowest tank and smallest mining hold. As a result, it is best to use the Hulk with fleet support so as to mitigate its weaknesses and allow you to leverage its superior extraction rate. A tank can be fitted, but it is still possible to gank even a maxed Hulk for profit with the correct ship in some areas of highsec, although it's more than able to handle most NPC rats.

Skills

Further information about additional or recommended skills to pilot Hulk for a specific or its common role(s) can be written here.

Tactics

Travel Fit

The OREHulk, like its T1 cousin the ORECovetor, has the fastest align-time of the Exhumers. With inertial stabilizers and decent skills, it can enter warp in under 5 seconds. With an attentive pilot, the Hulk can realistically use a travel fit to travel in low sec space using the Cloak Trick, and with top skills, skill implants and a proper travel fitting, it can even use the Cloak Trick using only an Afterburner instead of a Microwarp Drive, which allows it to enter warp even faster than with a MWD by about 2 seconds. Overheating the Afterburner makes high skills and implants less necessary -- just be sure to bring plenty of nanite repair paste especially if you are travelling far from stations with repair services.

Whenever harvesting resources in a potentially dangerous system without any accessible stations, it's a good idea to have a strong Safe Spot, and to carry around at least 2 mobile depots, one of which you leave at the safe spot to warp back to in order to refit to a travel fit as necessary.
