In terms of Caldari design philosophy, the Phoenix is a chip off the old block. With a heavily tweaked missile interface, targeting arrays of surpassing quality and the most advanced shield systems to be found anywhere, it is considered the strongest long-range installation attacker out there. Summary
Caldari Dreadnought. While the large fleet meta is dominated by armor capitals, leaving the Phoenix slightly isolated, it shines in two main roles. One form is a ultra-long range "B52" fit for bashing Upwell structures from beyond their weapons/tackle range. The other main use is as a High Angle Weapon ("HAW") fit, designed to apply huge damage to small targets. A HAW Phoenix fitted with Rapid Torpedo Launchers can apply its DPS to smaller targets better than any other Dread, while carrying a huge active tank, and being virtually immune to Neut pressure. This makes it a favored choice in the very niche community of pilots who attempt to roam solo in Dreadnoughts

- A basic "Solo" dreadnought for drops or for "Solo" roaming.
- Variations: Dropping the MWD for a Capital Shield Extender for improving the buffer, changing the rigs for better application of damage, changing the highslot to a cloak or a smartbomb, or otherwise tweaking it to suite pilot preference.
- Not for capital fleet engagements involving large numbers of capital ships.
- Carry all the different types of Torpedos.
- 3712 DPS with faction Torpedos. Tanks roughly 16K DPS without drugs.

- Another version of the "Solo" Phoenix for shooting at subcapital ships.
- This one is fit with dual capacitor boosters which stands up better to neuting pressure. Familiarity with your dreadnought will give you insight on how you prefer yours to be fit.

- Basic fleet Phoenix for larger capital brawls. Usually the Naglfar is preferable for those, or the Revelation.
- Variations: Sensor booster may be swapped with a Missile Guidance Computer or a battleship MWD, passive EM Ward Amplifier and perhaps an T2 Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer, a third Capital Shield Extender, or have the guns swapped to XL Cruise. Follow doctrine specs for your alliance. Application can be a problem in some cases, as is range.

- Believed, but not confirmed, to be the "B52" XL Cruise Phoenix for bashing Citadels outside Citadel EWAR and Fighter range.
- Pithum C-Type AIFs allow for more CPU if necessary. Lock range with Long Range Targeting V is 298km. Make sure to have Missile Bombardment to V for this hull to work effectively.
