The Kronos is the Gallente Marauder-class battleship. The Kronos is the Gallente Marauder-class battleship. The Kronos is a behemoth of a ship that can roll over almost any challenger with ease due to its monstrous tank, mixed flight of heavy and medium drones, bonus to armor rep, and four double-damage hybrid turrets (the ship's bonuses favoring blasters). While a blaster-fitted Kronos has extraordinarily high damage, the bastion module immobilizing the Kronos can lead to range issues, but it is a prodigious brawler if it can get close.

The Marauder class in general is designed for PvE use, and has several built-in weaknesses designed to prevent them from being overpowered in PvP. It has low sensor strength, meaning it is vulnerable to ECM. It also has low scan resolution (even by battleship standards), meaning it will take a great deal of time to lock small targets. Thus, without support, a Kronos can be nickle-and-dimed while being pointed, jammed, and kited by smaller vessels. For a similar vessel more slanted to PvP performance, try the Vindicator.
+
As with all Marauders, it has several utility high slots, which are intended to be fit with tractors and salvagers to make an all-in-one PvE ship.

* Trajectory Analysis, Controlled Bursts, Surgical Strike, Rapid Firing, Sharpshooter, and Motion Prediction to at least IV, preferably V. Motion Prediction and Sharpshooter V are prerequisites for large blasters and railguns respectively.

Tactics
 +
The Kronos is the highest DPS Marauder, but pays for that by being the shortest ranged. The Kronos struggles in solo PvE due to its awful range when blaster fit and its poor tracking and low damage when rail fit. Despite its marauder ability to use armor reps to shrug off 200+ DPS before its ridiculous resists, the Kronos struggles with capacitor. In fact, the Kronos ironically has more cap issues than the Paladin due to the Paly's bonus to energy turret activation cost. Despite these drawbacks, the bastion module can cover a multitude of sins, and the Kronos still sees use as a solo PvE ship for L4s and anomalies. The Kronos shines best in fleet PvE operations such as Incursions and Strongholds where its weak capacitor and lack of application are less of an issue and where its insane damage are highly valued.

20.03 Release - Build: 2013787 - 2022-03-08 - "Road to Fanfest" Update (Patch Notes)
Bastion+MWD trick allows marauders to warp almost instantly after coming out of bastion. Hover the mouse on the decycling bastion module to see exactly how long it has left. At 9 second mark start cycling the MWD for one cycle and start spamming "warp to" hotkey. After the bastion mode ends you will get one second of MWD that accelerates you to near warp speed and the marauder will warp in 2-3 seconds. Additionally the bastion mode makes hostiles unable to activate warp disruption or scram so you will not be pointed when the bastion ends giving you a small window to escape before the points are activated.

Marauders in bastion mode can jump Wormholes as normal and be instantly out of bastion mode on the other side.

Geared toward versatility and prolonged deployment in hostile environments, Marauders represent the cutting edge in today's warship technology. While especially effective at support suppression and wreckage salvaging, they possess comparatively weak sensor strength and may find themselves at increased risk of sensor jamming. Nevertheless, these thick-skinned, hard-hitting monsters are the perfect ships to take on long trips behind enemy lines.

Developer: Duvolle Labs

Duvolle Labs manufactures sturdy ships with a good mix of offensive and defensive capabilities. Since the company is one of New Eden's foremost manufacturers of particle blasters, its ships tend to favor turrets and thus have somewhat higher power output than normal.
